Delete in the app
The quickest route, and it does not need us to be involved:
- Open HealOS Patient and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Open Account details.
- Choose Delete account, and confirm.
You will be asked to confirm, because the deletion cannot be undone.
Delete by email
If you cannot sign in — for example you have lost access to your email address — write to greatattai442@gmail.com from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my HealOS Patient account”.
Include the full name on the account. We may ask you to confirm a detail we already hold before we act, so that nobody else can close your account on your behalf.
We will not ask you for your password, and you should never send it to us or to anyone claiming to be us.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in credentials, including any passkey you registered.
- Your app profile: name, date of birth, gender, phone number, address, blood type and genotype.
- Your profile photo.
- Vitals you recorded yourself at home.
- Your emergency contacts and any advance directive you stored in the app.
- Your reminders and notification settings.
- Your registered devices and push tokens, so notifications stop.
- Any share links you created, which stop working immediately.
What is kept, and why
Some records cannot be erased simply because an account closes. This is not a choice we make case by case — it is what medical records law and financial record-keeping require.
| Kept | Why | Who holds it |
|---|---|---|
| Your clinical record — diagnoses, notes, lab results, prescriptions, admissions | Hospitals are required to retain medical records for a statutory period, whether or not you use this app | The hospital that treated you |
| The access log for your chart | Its purpose is to be an audit trail of who read your record; deleting it would defeat that | Your hospital and us, as its processor |
| Billing and wallet transaction records | Financial and tax record-keeping obligations | Your hospital, and Paystack for payments it processed |
To ask about the clinical record itself — a correction, a copy, or erasure where the law permits it — contact the medical records department of the hospital that treated you. Our privacy policy explains why that request has to go to them rather than to us.
After deletion
- You will be signed out on every device, and notifications will stop.
- Your QR check-in code stops working immediately.
- The deletion cannot be reversed. If you want to use the app again later, you will need to register a new account.
- Registering again will not restore the profile data or home vitals you deleted, though your hospital record will still be there to link to.
If you would rather stop notifications than close your account, you can turn them off in Profile → Notification settings, or in your device settings, and leave the account in place.
